There's no such thing as a swimsuit test, and the only thing that should feel the growing performance anxiety is your swimsuit, mercilessly discarded if it doesn't fit you perfectly and make you feel comfortable. But how do you know which swimsuit is right for your body?
While it's true that there isn't a perfect model for everyone, it's equally true that there's a perfect swimsuit for each of us.
As summer approaches, we begin to think about what swimsuits to wear to the beach: some love to show off their curves, while others fear revealing their flaws, whether large or small. So how do you choose a swimsuit that flatters you and won't embarrass you? Knowing your body shape is important.
As with choosing clothes, a swimsuit should also be designed and chosen based on your body shape.
Choosing the perfect swimsuit isn't (just) a matter of taste. With our styling tips, maximizing your silhouette on the beach will be child's play!

Swimwear for hourglass body shape
The hourglass body shape is considered the most balanced of the five we've mentioned. It has shoulders and hips of equal width, a slim waist, and medium to full-sized breasts.
If you're an hourglass, you have very few constraints to respect and a whole "costume park" at your disposal to explore and indulge in.
What tips can't you ignore? Essentially, one: never forget to accentuate your curves, keeping a certain focus on your wasp waist. Classic bikinis with ties, trikinis, and monokinis (i.e., those swimsuits with a connected top and bottom with more or less asymmetrical cuts) will help you with this. These are all styles that tend to draw the eye right there: on the waist.
Swimwear for pear-shaped body types
Women with a pear body shape have small breasts, a slim waist, and generous, full legs and hips. For this body shape, the ideal style is a two-piece bikini, perhaps with a top or triangle top that closes with ties and features such as ruffles or flounces. Bottoms should be minimal, preferably avoiding a high waist, and should not show through at the hips.
Swimwear for apple body shape
Those with an apple body shape typically have slim legs and narrow hips, but a bit of a belly and a moderate waist. In these cases, it's important to play with the height of the bottom, choosing a mid-rise or high-waisted top to minimize the belly. Brazilian briefs and thongs are popular to highlight the butt, hips, and legs.
Swimwear for oval body shapes
The best swimsuit is definitely a one-piece, which contains and shapes the missing waistline. A color-block design with a contrasting effect that defines the silhouette is even better. A good alternative is a one-piece draped diagonally or wrapped around the waist: oblique lines distract and make volume less apparent.
And which swimsuit do you choose for your summer?
